Gratora plans are yearly. Each one renews automatically until you cancel, and canceling never switches off the add-ons you have installed. This guide covers renewing, updating your card, what happens when a payment fails, and how to cancel.
How renewal works
- Your plan renews automatically every year, on the anniversary of your purchase.
- It renews at the same yearly price you paid, in the same currency.
- Each license renews on its own. If you have bought more than one plan, each has its own renewal date.
- The renewal date is on the Licenses tab of your account, next to each add-on, and at the top of the Plan tab.
- About 40 days before each renewal, and again about 7 days before it, we email you the date, the amount and the currency, and how to cancel. When the renewal goes through, we email you again.
If a renewal goes through that you did not want, you can still ask for a full refund within 14 days. See Refunds and withdrawal.
Update your card and see invoices
Billing runs through Stripe, our payment provider. Your card details go to Stripe and are never stored on gratora.net.
- Sign in to your account at gratora.net/account.
- Open Billing.
- Click Manage in Stripe next to the plan.
The Stripe page opens for that license. There you can change the card, update your billing name, address and tax ID, and see and download every invoice.
Opening Stripe from Billing needs a sign-in link sent within the last 30 minutes. If the account asks for a fresh link, click Sign out at the top of your account, sign in again with a new link from your email, and try again.
A license we issued by hand rather than sold through the site has no subscription, and Billing says so.
If a payment fails
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries it again over the following days, and we email you. Update your card under Billing so the next attempt goes through.
While Stripe is still trying, nothing stops. The License screen on your site shows Grace period and updates keep coming. The Plan tab says your last payment did not go through, and plan changes wait until it does.
If no attempt succeeds, the plan ends. Updates continue for 21 days after the renewal date, then stop.
Cancel your plan
- In your account, open Billing.
- Click Manage in Stripe next to the plan.
- Cancel the plan on the Stripe page.
You can also cancel without signing in on the cancel page: enter your name, the email address you bought with and the start of your license key or the purchase date, and send it. Or go to the help center, click Submit a request and use the email address you bought with. We confirm every cancellation by email, with the date your plan ends.
Canceling stops the next renewal. Your plan, its updates and support keep running to the end of the year you paid for. Until that date you can change your mind and turn renewal back on in Billing.
Canceling does not refund the year you are in. If you are within 14 days of the purchase or the renewal, you can ask for a refund as well. See Refunds and withdrawal.
If you have booked a move to a smaller plan on the Plan tab, Billing cannot cancel until you click Keep my current plan there first. The cancel page works either way.
End a renewed plan early
If you buy as a consumer and your plan has renewed automatically at least once, you can end it early. It then ends on the last day of the current month of your plan year, and we refund the whole months left, in the currency you paid. For example, a plan that renewed on January 10 and is ended on March 20 ends on April 9, with 9 months refunded. On the cancel page, choose Early, at the end of this month of my plan year, or ask us in a request. The Terms of Service, section 8.1, have the details.
After a plan ends
| When | Your installed add-ons | Updates and downloads |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 21 days after the plan ends | Keep working | Yes, in the grace period |
| More than 21 days after | Keep working | No, the license has expired |
Support for the add-ons comes with an active license. Whatever the state of your license, you can still ask us about your account and about the free Gratora plugin.
To start again after a license has expired, buy a new plan. It comes with a new license key: save it under Fundraising > License on each site in place of the old one.
