Gratora add-ons are not on WordPress.org, so their updates come from gratora.net. Once your license key is saved on a site, updates show up in WordPress like any other plugin update, and you can let WordPress install them for you.
Which sites receive updates
A site receives updates for an add-on when all of these are true:
- The license key is saved under Fundraising > License. A site with no key saved never hears about updates.
- The add-on is part of the plan the key belongs to.
- The site holds one of the license’s places. Local and staging addresses always do. See Activate and move sites.
- The license shows Active or Grace period on the License screen.
When a plan ends, updates keep coming for 21 more days, then stop. The add-ons you installed keep working after that, on the version you have. See Install your add-ons and add your license key for every status.
How updates arrive
Each site asks gratora.net about new releases about every 12 hours. When one is out, WordPress shows it in the usual places:
- Dashboard > Updates, in the list of plugins with updates.
- Plugins, as a notice under the add-on’s row with an update now link.
Update from either place, the same way as any other plugin. A new release can take up to 12 hours to appear on a site, because the site does not ask again sooner.
Turn on auto-updates
- Go to Plugins.
- Find the Gratora add-on and click Enable auto-updates in its row, in the Automatic Updates column.
WordPress then installs each new release of that add-on on its own, as it does for plugins from WordPress.org. Turn it on for each add-on you want updated this way. Disable auto-updates, in the same column, turns it off again.
Whatever you choose stays in place for every release after. If an add-on’s row shows neither link, the site has not checked with gratora.net yet: save the key under Fundraising > License, or wait for the next check.
Update by hand from your account
You can also install a release yourself:
- In your account at gratora.net/account, open Downloads and click Download next to the add-on.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add Plugin and click Upload Plugin.
- Choose the zip file and click Install Now.
- WordPress sees that the add-on is already installed. Click Replace current with uploaded.
Downloads are available while your license is active or in its grace period.
If an update does not show up
- Open Fundraising > License and check the add-on’s status. Not activated means no key is saved, and Site limit reached means the site holds no place on the license.
- Check Last checked in the same table. If it is more than a day old, open a few admin pages and look again: the check runs while someone is working in the admin.
